Cyber Library/Internet Service



Cyber Library/Internet Service (Main Library)


      The Cyber Library/Internet is an area where students, faculty and staff can research and access information through online search using the internet-connected workstations. Access to the internet and information technology resources in the Library are to be used appropriately and in a manner consistent with the instructional, research, community service and administrative goals and objectives of the College.

Users of are expected to have read, understood and strictly follow the prescribed rules and regulations, and shall observe standards of decency at all times.


A bonafide student can avail a wifi access service at any Wifi Zones in the campus. Interested student must own a laptop and may apply for free wifi access by filing the application form at the Director’s Office or the Cyber Library/Network Office.

*      Rules & Regulations:

1.    The computer user must secure User ID and password from the Cyber Library Incharge.
2.  Access to the computer workstation is on a first come first serve basis.
3.  A student is given at least two hours to use the computer per day
4.  All the activities of the users in the workstation computers are strictly monitored.
5.  Facebook and Youtube sites are allowed inside the libraries only from 12:00-1:00 and 
5:00-7:00 P.M., inclusive of SCC's wifi or personal connection.
6. Flash media and diskettes of users must be scanned by the Cyber Library In-charge before using.
7. CDROMs are available in the library for the use of the faculty and students. The use of personal or CD not owned by the SCC Library System shall seek proper permission from the library management before it will be used in the library computer stations.                           
8.  No hacking, breaking in, corrupting, internet tapping, installing unauthorized programs and other similar acts.
9.  The Cyber Library reserves the right to regularly delete files from  system and network hard drives.
10. The Cyber Library reserves the right to define what are UNAUTHORIZED USES for students and this include but are not limited to the following:

a.      Computer games, online games which are not assigned course work;
b.      Movies or videos for leisure;
c.       Entering or transmitting of obscene/pornographic materials;
d.      Sharing one’s own computer account with others or using another person's accounts;
e.       Entering or transmitting computer viruses or any  form of intentionally destructive programs;
f.        Connecting any device to the network without permission;
g.      Modification or destruction of library hardware,  software or data including display and desktop configurations;
h.      Intentional shutting down of the computer.

11.       Maintain the cleanliness inside.

12.       Silence should be observed.

Cyber Library/Internet Service (Elementary and High School Libraries)
           
          The Cyber Library/Internet is an area where students, faculty and staff can research and access information through online search using the internet-connected workstations. Access to the internet and information technology resources are to be used appropriately and in a manner consistent with the instructional, research, community service and administrative goals and objectives of the College.


      Users of are expected to have read, understood and strictly follow the prescribed rules and regulations, and shall observe standards of decency at all times.

*      Rules and Regulations


1.  Present your validated school ID or Enrolment card every time you use the Computer/Netbook /Workstation in the Library. Always log-on your name in the Record Book provided.
2.  Access to the computer workstation is on a first come first serve basis.
3.  Each user is given only 30 minutes to use the computer on the available time slot provided but can extend to one hour if there are no demands from other users.
4.  Call the Computer In-Charge or the Librarian for printing job.
5.  CDROMs that are available in the library for the use of the faculty and students. Personal or CD not owned by the SCC Library System should seek proper permission from the library management before using it in the library computer stations.
6.  If there is a need to change the CD, ask the assistance of the Librarian.
7.  Facebook and Youtube sites are allowed inside the libraries only from 12:00-1:00 and 5:00-7:00 P.M., inclusive of SCC's wifi or personal connection.
8.  Playing computer games, online games, and watching movies or videos  for leisure inside the libraries are not allowed.
9.  No hacking, breaking in, corrupting, installing unauthorized programs and other similar acts.
10.  Users should not shut down the computer after using. 
11.  Any problem encountered at the computer workstations must be reported to the librarian immediately.
12.  Violation of any of this will be recommended for sanctions appropriate for serious offenses.



*      Violation of any of the rules in the Cyber Library will be recommended for sanctions appropriate for serious offenses. Violations of the rules shall be meted the following:
First offense                          - Oral warning
Second offense                      - Written warning
Third offense                         - Endorse to the Disciplinary Committee, 
                                                  SAO for appropriate sanction.

§  Cost per page:
P  3.00 – for text, P 10-15.00  for colored (inkjet)

§  For Faculty and Staff:
v  The Faculty/Staff may request for inter-office charge to the office or department where you belong.
v  Printing for personal use may be requested for salary deduction by filing printing charge form.
